Description

Internships available at GVI's head office. Join a vibrant and dynamic work environment at one of the World's leading Volunteering Organisations. Your role within the team will be varied allowing you to gain a wide range of skills and experience and depending upon your skills and GVI's current team, may include specifics relating to Project Development, Operations Management, Partner Relationships, the GVI Charitable Trust and our Ambassador program amongst others.

GVI owns and operates more than 150 volunteer programs in over 40 countries worldwide. We are one of the world’s largest independent volunteer program providers and have worked for over 10 years to supply quality volunteer programs across the globe. Every year over 3000 volunteers join programs from 1 week to over 1 year. Our programs are regularly featured in the world’s press and scientific and humanitarian publications for their great achievements in the field. Through its international network of over 175 personnel in over 40 countries GVI continues to support many of the most critical conservation and humanitarian projects around the globe. Responsibilities

  • Volunteer support
  • General administrative duties
  • Maintenance of partner websites
  • Processing project applications
  • Other tasks dependent on candidate skills and the needs of the team

Qualifications Required

  • Computer literate
  • Interest in volunteering/traveling
  • Administrative experience
  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Good grasp of written and spoken English

Qualifications Desired

  • Previous volunteering experience

Included

  • Timings flexible, but in general upon completion of 3 days per week for 6 months, a free 10 week GVI expedition placement is provided. Subsequent long-term paid work (either in the USA or overseas) may be available subject to availability and suitability.
